Compliance and certification
Everyone receives a Kasorb certificate of completion, valid for three years, listing what was covered and assessed. The course follows current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, though it isn't RCUK accredited. Need a regulated qualification? Qualsafe-accredited certificates are available for £100+VAT per session, whatever the group size. Many healthcare employers ask for an annual resuscitation update regardless of certificate length — we can run that too.

How it works
- Book online and pick a date and a session, morning or afternoon.
- Your trainer calls beforehand to confirm the room and logistics, and arrives 45 minutes early.

BLS with anaphylaxis (same day, same price)
If your setting deals with allergies — schools, nurseries, care and supported living — we run a 3.5-hour version that adds anaphylaxis to the same course: common triggers, signs and symptoms, life-threatening features, and how to use adrenaline auto-injectors and nasal sprays. Trainers bring training auto-injectors and nasal spray examples so staff handle the devices rather than seeing a photo of them.

Who needs this training
Knowing how to keep someone alive until help arrives is a fundamental skill, at work or at home. At work, BLS is for any staff identified as needing BLS, AED or choking training: nurses, support workers, health professionals and anyone supporting people as part of their job, particularly where there's a choking risk.
It's also the entry requirement for our ILS course, so it's the usual starting point for clinical teams.
What the law says
Resuscitation Council UK quality standards expect organisations to train staff to the level their role demands and to refresh it regularly — commonly annually for healthcare staff. In England, CQC looks for evidence that staff can respond to an emergency. A three-year certificate with an annual update is the pattern most care employers work to.
How we assess learning
Your trainer brings enough manikins, AED trainers and choking vests that everyone gets a proper go, not a turn at the end. There's no written paper on this course. Your trainer assesses each person practically and asks questions throughout, and only certificates people once satisfied they can do it. Practical work involves kneeling and working at floor level, so tell your team to dress for it — and tell us at booking if anyone might struggle, so we can plan rather than improvise.

Your trainer has used these skills for real and teaches to current RCUK guidelines. They bring the manikins, a demonstration AED and choking vests, so nobody is learning from slides alone.
Logistics
- Room: one room is enough, even for two sessions. Horseshoe or classroom seating for the group — what matters is clear floor space to demonstrate CPR and the recovery position
- You provide: a projector screen or a blank wall
- Group size: 2 to 12 per session
- Timing: morning or afternoon, or both on the same day
- Access: the trainer needs the room 45 minutes before the start
- Anywhere in the UK, on-site only
- Literacy: we recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy
Cost explained
£395+VAT per session, up to 12 staff. Two sessions on the same day cost the same £395+VAT, so you can train up to 24 people in a day — about £16 a head — and keep the floor covered while you do it.
There's no catch: it's a day rate. One trainer, one room, morning and afternoon, same equipment, same course. Nothing else changes.
Add Qualsafe accreditation for £100+VAT per session, which covers everyone in that session whatever the group size. If you want both sessions accredited, that's two add-ons (£200+VAT).

Frequently asked questions
Can you train two groups in one day?
Yes, and it's the same £395+VAT. Morning (09:30–12:30) and afternoon (13:30–16:30) sessions of up to 12 each, in the same room, with the second group swapping in over lunch. It's how most care homes cover shifts without closing the floor.
Is BLS the same as CPR training?
BLS includes CPR and goes further: AED use, an unconscious casualty, the recovery position and choking. If someone asks for "CPR training", this is usually the course they mean.
Is it accredited?
Everyone gets a Kasorb certificate of completion, valid three years, following current RCUK guidelines. If you need a regulated qualification, Qualsafe accreditation is available for £100+VAT per session.
How often should BLS be refreshed?
The certificate lasts three years. Resuscitation Council UK quality standards set the expectation of an annual update for staff expected to respond to a cardiac arrest, and HSE recommends annual refresher training for first aiders between three-yearly certificates. We're not the ones setting that — we just run to it. The annual update is the same half-day course at the same price.
Does this count for ILS?
Yes. In-date BLS is the entry requirement for our ILS course.
Can we do it online?
No. CPR and AED use have to be practised and assessed in person.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm bookings within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
