Compliance and certification
Everyone receives a Kasorb certificate of completion, valid for three years — or the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) if your policy requires a regulated qualification. HSE strongly recommends annual refreshers. Before the certificate expires, staff need a two-day requalification; once it has expired, they need the full three-day course.

- Three days, 09:30–17:00 each day. We recommend running them back to back for the best learning experience; they don't have to be.
- Everyone is assessed: seven practical assessments, plus an optional eighth, and multiple-choice theory papers.
- Certificates are emailed the day after the final day; Qualsafe certificates are issued by the awarding body.

Who needs this training
Workplaces where the first aid needs assessment calls for fully qualified first aiders — higher-risk sites such as construction, manufacturing and warehouses, and larger organisations. Lower-risk workplaces may only need Emergency First Aid at Work. We recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy.
What the law says
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require adequate first aid provision, decided by your needs assessment. HSE guidance describes First Aid at Work as the course for workplaces with higher risks or more employees, and our course content follows the HSE First Aid at Work syllabus. Certificates last three years, and HSE strongly recommends annual refreshers. A two-day requalification is available if taken before the certificate expires.
How we assess learning
Seven practical assessments — CPR and safe use of an AED, the choking casualty, the unconscious casualty, wounds, bleeding and shock, the secondary survey, managing fractures, and managing anaphylaxis — plus an optional eighth on catastrophic bleeding (mandatory from March 2027), and multiple-choice theory papers. The practical work includes CPR at floor level, so staff need suitable clothing and footwear. If anyone has an injury or condition that might get in the way, tell us when you book.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and brings everything needed for three days of practical training.

Frequently asked questions
FAW or EFAW?
Your first aid risk assessment decides. EFAW is one day for lower-risk workplaces; FAW is three days for higher-risk or larger ones.
Can the three days be split?
They don't have to be consecutive, but for the best learning and retention we recommend running them back to back.
Accredited or not?
The course is the same; accreditation adds the Qualsafe Level 3 Award, for workplaces whose policy requires a regulated qualification.
What happens after three years?
Staff take our two-day First Aid at Work Requalification before the certificate expires.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
