I had the emergency first aid training with Andy and honestly its the best iv had. I would of been in panic mode prior to the training if i was first to an incident but can now say after the training iv got a lot more confidence in myself to know how to help people. Delivered perfect and everyone was engaged and getting involved and Andy was brilliant. Thank you 😊

Not sure which you need? Start with your first aid needs assessment, or tell us about your workplace and we'll suggest the right course.

Who needs this training

Employers who need trained first aiders on site: offices, care providers, schools and nurseries, warehouses, construction and manufacturing. Your first aid needs assessment decides how many first aiders you need and which course; a small, low-risk workplace may only need an appointed person.

What the law says

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require every employer to provide adequate and appropriate first aid equipment, facilities and people, decided by a needs assessment. HSE stopped approving first aid training providers in 2013, so it's up to you to choose a suitable one. You'll also need a suitably stocked first aid kit.

How we assess learning

Every course is assessed practically, with a multiple-choice theory paper on the full courses. Practical work includes CPR at floor level, so staff need clothes and footwear they can kneel in. If anyone has an injury or condition that might get in the way, tell us when you book.

Your trainer

Your trainer has used these skills for real, and brings the manikins, AED trainers, choking vests, bandages and dressings.

Logistics

  • Room: horseshoe or classroom seating with clear floor space to work at ground level, about a square metre per person
  • You provide: a flipchart and pens, and a clear wall or screen for the projector
  • The trainer brings: all training equipment
  • Staff bring: identification — photo ID for the Qualsafe versions
  • Group size: up to 12 per session
  • Anywhere in the UK, on-site only
  • Literacy: we recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy

Cost explained

From £395+VAT a day for up to 12 staff — the whole group, not per person. Public courses typically cost £100–£150 a head, plus travel and a day away from work, so the flat rate is usually cheaper from about four people.

More than 12 to train? Book a second day at the same flat rate. Several sites? Book each site through our booking site at no extra cost, or we'll arrange them for a £100+VAT admin fee.

Frequently asked questions

What is on-site first aid training?

It's a first aid course run at your workplace for a group of your staff, instead of sending people to a public course. Kasorb's trainer comes to you with all the equipment, trains up to 12 staff in a day and assesses everyone on the spot. Certificates are emailed the next day.

How much does on-site first aid training cost?

From £395+VAT a day for up to 12 staff. That's the whole group, not per person. A one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is £395+VAT, and the three-day First Aid at Work course is £1,185+VAT. A Qualsafe Level 3 Award is an optional extra.

Which first aid course do our staff need?

Your first aid needs assessment decides. Lower-risk workplaces usually need the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course. Higher-risk or larger workplaces need the three-day First Aid at Work course. Nurseries and anyone caring for young children need paediatric first aid. Our needs assessment guide walks you through it.

How many staff can you train in a day?

Up to 12 per session. For more than 12, book a second day at the same flat rate. The half-day First Aid at Work refresher can run twice in one day, so up to 24 staff can refresh for one day rate.

How many first aiders do we need?

It depends on your risks, headcount and shifts. For lower-hazard workplaces, HSE guidance suggests an appointed person under 25 employees and at least one EFAW-trained first aider for 25 to 50. Read more in our guide to how many first aiders you need.

Do you cover our area?

Yes. We run on-site first aid training anywhere in the UK, at your premises.

Can you train staff on different shifts?

Yes. Evenings, weekends and split sessions are available on request, so night and weekend staff can be trained too. Tell us your shift pattern when you enquire.

Is the certificate the same as a public course?

With the Qualsafe option, staff get a regulated Qualsafe Level 3 Award. Without it, they get a Kasorb certificate of completion. The course, the assessments and the three-year validity are the same either way.

How quickly can you come?

We confirm within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date.
