Compliance and certification
Staff receive a Kasorb certificate of completion for your training file. It isn't a regulated qualification. UKHSA's standards expect everyone who vaccinates to complete an annual update, and we recommend booking it yearly. Your team leaves fully trained and ready for the usual final step with any clinical skill: your own supervised competency sign-off against your policies. The training counts towards staff CPD.

How it works
- Enquire with your postcode and team size. We'll come back with a price within 48 hours. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
- Tell us who's training: new vaccinators for the foundation course, or experienced vaccinators for the annual update, and the vaccines your team gives.
- Your trainer calls beforehand to confirm logistics and anything specific to your setting.
- On the day: the theory, then injection technique and an anaphylaxis scenario, practised under observation.
- Certificates are emailed the next day.
- Then your own supervised competency sign-off, as with any clinical skill.
What the course covers
- How vaccines work — the immunology you need
- Vaccine-preventable diseases and the national schedule
- The legal framework: patient group directions and patient specific directions
- Storage, the cold chain, and what to do if it breaks
- Consent, and talking with people who are unsure
- Administration technique and injection sites
- Recognising and managing anaphylaxis, including adrenaline
- Documentation and reporting adverse events
By the end, your staff will be able to:
- explain how vaccines work and the legal framework they give them under
- store vaccines safely and respond to a cold-chain break
- demonstrate injection technique and the emergency response to anaphylaxis
Who needs this training
- Practice nurses and nursing associates
- Pharmacy and occupational health teams
- Healthcare support workers who give vaccines under a patient specific direction
New vaccinators take the foundation course; everyone who vaccinates takes the annual update.
What the law says
UKHSA's National minimum standards and core curriculum for vaccination training (2025) covers registered healthcare professionals and healthcare support workers. It expects anyone who advises on or gives vaccines to have specific training: comprehensive foundation training before they start, an annual update, and a recorded assessment of their knowledge and clinical skills before new vaccinators begin. This course's content is aligned to that core curriculum; the assessment in practice is your sign-off.
Registered healthcare professionals can give vaccines under a patient group direction (PGD); healthcare support workers only under a patient specific direction (PSD). In England, CQC's Regulation 12 (safe care and treatment) expects staff to have the qualifications, competence, skills and experience to give care safely.
How we assess learning
Staff practise injection technique and an anaphylaxis scenario under observation, and the trainer tests understanding through questions and case studies. UKHSA's standards expect each new vaccinator's knowledge and clinical skills to be assessed and recorded before they start: that's your supervised competency sign-off, after the course.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real. They're a specialist clinical trainer, and they keep the session in line with current national guidance and what's changed in the schedule. Clinical training like this counts towards staff CPD.

Cost explained
Clinical courses are priced by location: they're taught by specialist clinical trainers, and the price depends on where you are and how far your trainer needs to travel. Send us your postcode and team size and we'll confirm the price within 48 hours. It's one price for the group, up to 10 staff — not per person — and it covers your trainer, their travel and the course materials.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an annual update?
Yes. The update covers what's changed in the schedule and guidance, plus anaphylaxis. UKHSA's standards expect everyone who vaccinates to update every year.
Can healthcare support workers attend?
Yes. Healthcare support workers can give certain vaccines under a patient specific direction (PSD), not a patient group direction (PGD), and the course explains the difference. UKHSA's standards don't consider it suitable for them to give injected vaccines to infants and pre-school children.
Does it include anaphylaxis?
Yes: recognising it, the emergency response and adrenaline. UKHSA also expects vaccinators to have had anaphylaxis and basic life support training in the last 12 months, and our Basic Life Support course covers the life support part.
We only run a seasonal flu campaign.
UKHSA's standards allow shorter, tailored foundation training for staff with a narrower vaccination role. Tell us about your campaign when you enquire and we'll talk through what fits.
What do we need to provide, and is there anything else to pay?
A room, a projector screen or blank wall, and any equipment we agree with you for the practical. The price we quote covers your trainer, their travel and the course materials, so there are no surprise extras.
Can it be done online?
No. It's a practical clinical skill, so it's on-site.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
