A well run programme that held your attention and was full of invaluable information. I learnt so much, for use at work and home, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

What the law says
ADHD can count as a disability under the Equality Act 2010 in Great Britain, so schools, services and employers may need to make reasonable adjustments. In England, the SEND Code of Practice expects schools and settings to identify and support children with special educational needs — which can include ADHD — and both Ofsted and CQC look at whether staff understand the needs of the people they support.
ADHD often sits alongside autism. Registered health and care providers in England must also train staff in learning disability and autism; this course complements that training rather than replacing it.
How we assess learning
Learning is checked throughout the session, through case studies, questions and discussion.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and runs the session as a discussion, using case studies — so staff can talk through the people they actually support.

Frequently asked questions
Is it about children or adults?
Both. It covers ADHD in children, young people and adults — how it develops, how it's assessed and diagnosed, and how to support it day to day. Tell us who you support when you book, and your trainer will focus on them.
Does it cover autism too?
It covers how ADHD and autism overlap and present together, since many people have both.
Is this the Oliver McGowan training?
No. That's a separate standardised programme on learning disability and autism.
Can it be done online?
Yes, live with a trainer, for up to 12 staff per session. It's discussion-based, so it works well online.
Why not e-learning?
E-learning gives everyone the same slides. Here, a trainer works through case studies with your team and answers questions about the people they actually support. For a full group of 12 it works out at around £41 a head.
How long does the certificate last?
It doesn't expire, but we recommend a refresher every three years.
Can we train more than 12?
Yes. Run two sessions on the same day for the same £495+VAT — up to 24 staff.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm bookings within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
