Compliance and certification
Staff receive a Kasorb certificate of completion. It doesn't expire, but we recommend a refresher when CQC introduces its new assessment frameworks. Kasorb is independent of CQC. It isn't a regulated qualification.

How it works
- Enquire with your postcode, group size and preferred dates. We'll come back with a price within 48 hours. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date — live online offers the best availability of dates. If you need something sooner, just ask.
- Confirm your date once you're happy with the price. For the full day's mock assessment exercise, send the trainer examples from your service in advance.
- Your trainer calls beforehand to confirm logistics, and to understand your service and your team.
- Half a day or a full day, on-site or live online — discussion-based, with a self-assessment against your own service.
- Certificates are emailed the next day.

What the law says
In England, CQC registers and regulates health and adult social care services against the fundamental standards. Its current single assessment framework is built on five key questions — is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led? — with 34 quality statements underneath them.
CQC has published four draft sector-specific assessment frameworks: adult social care, primary care and community services, mental health care, and hospitals. The five key questions stay. Under each one, key lines of enquiry replace the quality statements, and rating characteristics describe what outstanding, good, requires improvement and inadequate look like in that sector. CQC is testing and piloting the drafts and hasn't confirmed when they'll take effect; until then, services are assessed under the current framework.
CQC covers England only. Services in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own regulators.
How we assess learning
Understanding is tested through discussion and a self-assessment exercise against your own service. On the full day, the trainer reviews the mock assessment exercise with the group.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and keeps the session practical: what CQC looks for, and how your service can show it — not a tour of the guidance.
Logistics
- Room: horseshoe or classroom seating — what matters is clear floor space — with a projector screen or blank wall
- The trainer brings: projector, laptop, flipchart and all general training equipment
- Group size: up to 12 per session, on-site or live online
- Timing: half day 09:30–12:30 or 13:30–16:30, or a full day 09:30–16:30; staff arrive 15 minutes early
- Access: the trainer needs the room 45 minutes before the start
- Anywhere in the UK, or live online
- Live online: a quiet space and a device with camera and audio for each person joining — ideally one device each, and never more than two people per device
- More dates online: live online often has more dates available, so it's worth asking if you need training sooner or have people across several locations
- Literacy: we recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy

Frequently asked questions
Is this up to date with CQC's changes?
Yes. It covers the framework CQC uses now and the draft sector-specific frameworks CQC has published, so your team understands both.
When do the new frameworks take effect?
CQC hasn't confirmed a date. It's testing and piloting the draft frameworks first. Until they're introduced, services are assessed under the current framework.
Half day or full day?
The half day suits a whole team. The full day suits managers and adds a mock assessment exercise on one key question.
Will you inspect our service?
No. This is training, not a mock inspection or consultancy. For the full day's mock assessment exercise, send the trainer examples from your service in advance.
Does this apply in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?
No. CQC regulates health and adult social care in England only. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own regulators.
Can it be done online?
Yes, live with a trainer, for up to 12 staff — not a recorded module. It's discussion-based, so it works well online.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date — live online offers the best availability of dates. If you need something sooner, just ask.
