Excellent training knowledgeable tutor. Joe King was well travelled so even though we had a diverse class he was able to make everyone feel included and his class was very interactive not too serious but still able to learn alot.
Trusted by health, workplace and care teams across the UK

How it works
- Book online — book your session and tell us whether you need the half day for all staff or the full day for leaders and managers. We'll confirm within 48 hours. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date — live online offers the best availability of dates.
- Your trainer calls beforehand to confirm logistics, and to understand your team or service. If you'd like the session to reflect your own equality and diversity policy, send it in advance.
- Half a day (3 hours) or a full day (6 hours), discussion-based, with case studies.
- Certificates are emailed the next day.
What the course covers
Both versions:
- What equality, diversity and inclusion mean
- Assumptions and unconscious bias
- The protected characteristics
- Barriers to inclusion
- Positive action and best practice
- The law and what it means for your organisation
- Case studies
Full day for leaders and managers adds:
- Leading inclusive teams
- Organisational culture
Who needs this training
Half day: all staff — in health and social care, and in any workplace that wants a shared understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Full day: leaders, managers and supervisors who recruit, manage and support staff, respond to concerns, or set the culture of a team or service.
We recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy.
What the law says
The Equality Act 2010 protects people in Great Britain from discrimination, harassment and victimisation because of nine protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. Employers can be held liable for discrimination or harassment by their staff at work unless they can show they took all reasonable steps to prevent it — and effective, up-to-date training is one of the steps employment tribunals look at. Public bodies, including NHS organisations, also have the public sector equality duty. Northern Ireland has separate equality law.
In care settings in England, CQC's Regulation 10 (dignity and respect) expects people to be treated with dignity and respect, with regard to their protected characteristics, and Regulation 18 expects staff to have the training they need for their role.
How we assess learning
Learning is checked throughout the session, through case studies, questions and discussion.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and runs the session as a discussion, not a lecture — with case studies, so staff can talk through real situations from their own workplace.

- Group size: up to 12 face to face, 10 online

Frequently asked questions
Which version should we book?
All staff: the half day. Leaders, managers and supervisors: the full day, which adds leading inclusive teams and organisational culture. Both cost £595+VAT for up to 12 staff (10 online).
Does it cover unconscious bias?
Yes. Staff look at assumptions and unconscious bias through discussion and case studies — how bias can shape everyday decisions, and what to do about it.
Does it cover Northern Ireland?
No. The course is built around the Equality Act 2010, which applies in England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland has its own equality law.
Can it be done online?
Yes, live with a trainer, for up to 10 staff. It's discussion-based, so it works well online.
Why not e-learning?
E-learning can tell staff what the law says. Inclusion is learned best by talking through real situations and the assumptions behind them. A trainer works through case studies with your team and answers questions about your own workplace. For a full group of 12 it works out at around £50 a head.
How long does the certificate last?
Three years, for either version.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm bookings within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
