Who needs this training
Every employee needs a grounding in health and safety. This course suits:

We recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy.
What the law says
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 requires employers to provide the information, instruction, training and supervision staff need to work safely. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 add that training must be given when people start and when they're exposed to new or increased risks. Northern Ireland has equivalent law. Training shows staff understand their duties and the everyday risks at work — and gives you evidence for your training file.
In care settings in England, CQC's Regulation 18 also expects staff to have the training they need to carry out their role safely.
How we assess learning
Learning is checked throughout the session through questions and discussion.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and teaches health and safety in terms of your own workplace — the hazards, routines and procedures your staff deal with day to day — answering their questions as they go.

Frequently asked questions
Is health and safety training a legal requirement?
Yes. Employers must give staff the health and safety information, instruction and training they need — when they start and when the risks they face change. The law doesn't name a particular course or qualification. This course covers the essentials and gives you evidence for your training file.
Can it be done online?
Yes, live with a trainer, for up to 10 staff per session — not a recorded module. It's knowledge-based, so it works well online.
How is this different from COSHH or manual handling training?
This course introduces each topic so every employee has the basics. COSHH and Manual Handling go deeper for staff who work with hazardous substances or move loads as part of their job.
Is it a qualification?
No. Staff receive a Kasorb certificate of completion, valid for three years. It isn't a regulated qualification.
Why not e-learning?
E-learning gives everyone the same slides. Here, a trainer relates each topic to your own workplace and answers your team's questions as they go. For a full group of 12 it works out at around £50 a head.
Can we train more than 12?
Yes. Book another session at the same flat rate — £595+VAT for each session of up to 12 staff (10 online).
How quickly can you come?
We confirm bookings within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
