Compliance and certification
Staff receive a Kasorb certificate of completion, valid for three years. It's training for staff who use, store or handle hazardous substances, so they understand the risks and follow the controls in your COSHH assessments. It isn't a regulated qualification.

How it works

- Your trainer calls beforehand to confirm logistics. If you'd like the session built around your own products, send your product list or a few safety data sheets at least 7 days before.
- Three hours, with a short break.
- Certificates are emailed the next day.

What the law says
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended) require employers to assess the risks from hazardous substances, prevent or adequately control exposure, and give staff suitable information, instruction and training (regulation 12). Northern Ireland has equivalent regulations. Training shows staff understand the hazards and follow the controls in your COSHH assessments — and gives you evidence for your training file.
In care settings in England, CQC's Regulation 12 (safe care and treatment) also expects providers to assess and reduce risks to people's health and safety, which includes how cleaning products and other hazardous substances are stored and used.
How we assess learning
Learning is checked throughout the session through questions and discussion, and staff complete an assessment before the end.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and teaches COSHH in terms of the substances your staff actually handle — cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, biological hazards or whatever your setting uses. Send your product list or safety data sheets in advance and they'll build them into the session.

Cost explained
£495+VAT for the day. It's a day rate: one trainer, one day, the same price for one half-day session or two. Run two sessions, morning and afternoon, and train up to 24 staff while the rest of the team carries on working.
More than 24 to train? Book another day at the same flat rate. Several sites? Book each site through our booking site at no extra cost, or we'll arrange them for a £100+VAT admin fee.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be done online?
Yes, live with a trainer, for up to 12 staff per session — not a recorded module. It's knowledge-based, so it works well online. On-site, staff can look at the actual products and labels in your building.
Will it cover our own products?
Yes. Send your product list or a few safety data sheets at least 7 days before, and your trainer will use them in the session.
Does it cover COSHH assessments?
Yes — how an assessment works, from identifying the hazard to choosing the controls, so staff understand the assessments that apply to their work.
How is this different from Legionella or infection control training?
COSHH covers all substances hazardous to health, including biological agents. Legionella Awareness and Infection Control go deeper on those specific risks.
Why not e-learning?
E-learning gives everyone the same slides. Here, a trainer talks your team through the products and data sheets they actually use, and answers their questions as they go. For a full group of 12 it works out at around £41 a head.
How long does the certificate last?
Three years.
Can we train more than 12?
Yes. Run two sessions on the same day for the same £495+VAT — up to 24 staff.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm bookings within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
