Booked BLS training for our practice team. Surjeet was great - answered all our questions (even the really specific ones from our dentists about sedation scenarios) and made it relevant to dental practice. Everyone passed first time and actually enjoyed it.

What the law says
The General Dental Council lists medical emergencies as a highly recommended CPD topic, suggesting at least 10 hours in each CPD cycle and at least two hours every year. Resuscitation Council UK's Quality Standards for primary dental care say dental staff should update their resuscitation knowledge and skills at least annually, and that new staff should have resuscitation training as part of their induction.
In England, CQC inspections of dental practices look at how the practice is prepared for medical emergencies, including its emergency drugs and equipment. Annual whole-team training gives you evidence for your training file.
How we assess learning
Staff work through practical scenarios as a team, and the trainer observes each person's response and their use of the equipment and emergency drugs.
Your trainer
Your trainer has used these skills for real, and runs the scenarios around how your practice actually works — who calls for help, who fetches the kit, and who leads.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Dental ILS?
This is a four-hour whole-team session on the emergencies you're most likely to see in practice. Dental Immediate Life Support is a full day of advanced life support skills for up to 6, often for sedation teams.
Do staff need Basic Life Support first?
They need Basic Life Support knowledge. Many practices book Basic Life Support and this course together.
Morning or afternoon?
You choose. Many practices run it in the afternoon and keep their morning list.
Does it count as CPD?
Staff can record it in their own CPD log as medical emergencies learning. The certificate isn't presented as GDC-verifiable CPD.
What do we need to provide?
A room with space for up to 12 and a screen or blank wall, plus your emergency drugs kit and AED so the team trains with what's in your practice. The price includes the trainer's travel and materials.
We've got more than 12 staff.
Book a second session at the same flat rate — for example, 20 staff means two bookings, £790+VAT.
How quickly can you come?
We confirm bookings within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
