How it works

  1. Enquire with your postcode, group size and preferred dates. We'll come back with a price within 48 hours. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
  2. Confirm your date and the length of session that suits your team.
  3. Your trainer calls beforehand to confirm logistics and understand the workloads your team manages.
  4. On the day, staff work through real examples from their own week and build a personal action plan.
  5. Certificates are emailed the next day.

What the course covers

  • Where time goes: auditing your week
  • Urgent versus important
  • Planning and prioritising
  • Managing interruptions and email
  • Delegating and saying no
  • Procrastination and focus
  • Your personal action plan

Who needs this training

Anyone juggling competing demands at work:

  • Managers and team leaders
  • Administrators, PAs and office staff
  • Shift leaders and senior staff in health and care services
  • Staff who have recently taken on more responsibility

We recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy.

What the law says

No law requires time management training. In Great Britain, employers must assess the risk of work-related stress, and HSE's Management Standards name demands — workload, work patterns and the work environment — as one of the main causes. Northern Ireland has equivalent law.

Time management training helps people plan and prioritise their own work. It isn't a substitute for managing demands that are too high, but it gives staff practical tools and gives you a record for your training file.

How we assess learning

The trainer reviews learning through questions and discussion, and each person builds a personal action plan, which they review with the trainer.

Your trainer

Your trainer has used these skills for real, and works with the demands your team actually faces — rotas, deadlines, inboxes and interruptions — so the tools fit your workplace, not a generic one.

Logistics

  • Room: horseshoe or classroom seating — what matters is clear floor space, with a projector screen or blank wall
  • The trainer brings: projector, laptop, flipchart and all general training equipment
  • Group size: up to 12, on-site or live online
  • Timing: agreed with you when you enquire; staff arrive 15 minutes early
  • Access: the trainer needs the room 45 minutes before the start
  • Anywhere in the UK, or live online
  • Live online: a quiet space and a device with camera and audio for each person joining — ideally one device each, and never more than two people per device
  • More dates online: live online often has more dates available, so it's worth asking if you need training sooner or have people across several locations
  • Literacy: we recommend at least Level 1 literacy and numeracy

Frequently asked questions

Our managers work shifts. Does it still work?

Yes. The trainer works with examples from shift-based work, such as handovers and on-call, as well as office-based workloads.

Does it cover delegating and saying no?

Yes — when to hand work on, how to say no constructively, and how to protect time for the work that matters most.

Will it fix an unmanageable workload?

No. It helps people plan and prioritise their own time. If demands are simply too high, that's for managers to address as well.

How is this different from stress management training?

Time management is about planning and prioritising your own work. Stress awareness and management looks at the causes and signs of work-related stress and how to respond. The two work well together.

How long is the course?

We agree the length with you when you enquire, based on your team and what you want to cover.

Can it be done online?

Yes, live with a trainer, for up to 12 staff — not a recorded module.

How quickly can you come?

We'll come back with a price within 48 hours, and we recommend booking at least four weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. If you need something sooner, just ask.
